It’s a wonderful thing to get to design and build a new home, but decorating brand new construction can be a bit of a daunting task. Nothing fits in the new home like it did in the old one. Or, what looked good in your other home may seem a little tired or lackluster in your brand-spankin’ new space. Or, you may feel like your new place is lacking a little bit of personality and the “hominess” you had created in your previous residence.
This was the case for our two-time client in the Manderson Ridge area of Omaha. They had previously hired us to design their main floor great room space and after saving a little more cash, wanted to complete the basement living and bar area.
This walkout basement is a great second living space for our clients and they wanted it to be especially functional for entertaining friends and family. We used a large sectional and leather swivel chair, anchored by a colorful area rug and round metal table with storage to create a comfortable seating area. We chose to divide the room and put the seating in front of the sliding glass doors to keep things cozy and to create a great overflow seating spot by adding two barstools to the custom console table we had built to house the client’s keyboard.
Upholstered chrome barstools surround the bar and allow guests to hang out and watch the game or chat with the host while having a snack.
The oversized statement art and custom cornice boards provide lots of color and style while the oversized metal “M” adds a touch of an industrial vibe and is one of our favorite things in the space.
Whether you’re in the building process and could use some assistance help with the interior design of the home and choosing finishes, or if you’ve already moved and need a hand with making your house a beautiful and functional space for you and your family, FLUFF Interior Design is up to the task!
