When we walked into this Hooper, NE home last year, the sweet homeowners did not even live there yet! Our favorite…a blank slate. The living room was LONG, but its great wall of windows on one side, untapped built-ins on the other side, and a gorgeous stone fireplace at the end gave us a vision for LOTS of seating for this large family.
The family brought with them 4 reclining chairs that they wanted to use as part of the seating group. We added one of Fluff’s favorite sofas in a light greige upholstery (with a fabric content tough for young kids, might I add) and two bright red poufs for flexible seating when friends stop by. You may see another pair of AMAZING chairs cozied up by the fireplace – yep, we added those too! Remember, the room is LONG so we wanted to not only fill it up for the sake of it, but for a functional spot to curl up and read or a fireside chat. We love the fabric on these chairs – the coral pattern and sea blue color is subtle, but add such a fun statement.
Can we talk about the color palette for a minute? See that awesome piece of art above the fireplace mantle – the one with the most awesome barn ever? We love it and it became our jumping off place for a color palette of blues, reds, teals, and warm neutrals. The rug serves as a foundation for all of the seating furniture, but the pillows and curtain panels add pops of cherry red (a new favorite for us Fluff designers).
The industrial cart coffee table is perfect for game playing and kicking your feet up. Strategically placed accent tables and lighting create the coziest of cozies.
